The district of Usera has the largest Chinese population in Madrid. It’s even called the “Chinatown”.

Pastor Jiang visited Usera sometime in 2017. He felt at home when he heard some people speak his hometown dialect- Fuzhounese. He thought it be best if we can gather all those people and start a church there. He had a burden to start a Bible Study group, so he prayed about it for a while. One day, he received a phone call from a sister. She asked Pastor Jiang to pray for her friend, who is also a sister in Christ but was influenced by the Eastern Lighting Cult and had gone missing. The family of her friend was very anxious. Pastor Jiang visited the family after receiving the news. His desire to save lost souls and start a church grew stronger.

January 18, 2018 was the tenth anniversary of the CEC in Fuenlabrada. Pastor Jiang had a chance to report the situation in Usera to Rev. Moses Yang. After prayers, Rev. Yang and the coworkers decided to start a Bible Study group. The Usera Bible Study group officially started on February 3, 2018 at the office of Brother Guangyong Chen. The attendance was around 20; it has gradually increased in numbers through the end of April.

May the Lord grant us wisdom and help us in spreading the Gospel in this place, so that we can effectively use the Chinese school with an area of 1,506.95 square feet that we have rented to further the ministry. Hope we can start the Sunday Worship here soon.

We will follow Paul’s teachings in II Timothy 4:2 - “Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all long suffering and doctrine.” Please pray for us. May God open the door for us so that we can speak the mystery of Christ. (Colossians 4:3)
