Established Date: 1974
The CEC in Livingston (former name: CEC in West Orange) is the first CEC in New Jersey. Because of the requests of some Chinese Christian families who lived in New Jersey, the preparation to establish the CEC in West Orange was set in motion in 1973. During that time, Rev. Moses Yang had a car accident and was hurt. From this incident, he thought to himself that this could not be God's will to establish the West Orange Church. So, he knelt and prayed to the Lord for clear direction. The Lord revealed to him a Bible verse from Psalm 66:12: 'Thou hast caused men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water; but thou broughtest us out into a wealthy place.' This verse revealed God's will to Rev. Yang. With great faith, the church was established in early 1974.
Currently the church has a diverse congregational mix. We welcome people from all walks of life.
By the grace of God, He has provided us with a property for His work. Our building dedication was held on June 3, 2006 with the presence of the Mayor of the Township of Livingston.
