Arnhem is an important city in the central East of the Netherlands near Germany. Chinese are spread out near Arnhem, just as other places. We needed a centralized location to spread Gospel to the entire area. Near Arnhem and its neighbor city of Duiven, there is a supermarket chain "Amazing Oriental". Amazing Oriental considers it important to spread Gospel among its staff and encourage their staff to attend church services and meetings. They invited evangelists to visit their staff, and do personal evangelism work among them. God has blessed them. Many of the staff members and their families believed in Christ. We made arrangement to bring them to our church for baptismal and worship services. However, there were practical difficulties as they live very far from us. The Christian brothers and sisters of CEC in Amsterdam and brothers and sisters prayed and asked God for guidance to further the Gospel work here and to establish a church so that brothers and sisters at Arnhem and Duivan may worship God more locally. The promise of “all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose” was fulfilled. There was a room accommodating 200 people on an upper floor of the Amazing Oriental at Duiven. Its owner agreed that we may use it for church activities. Thus CEC in Arnhem found a gathering place, where the brothers and sisters may serve, and worship with one accord. The church was established on Feb. 12, 2012, and held its first worship service that day.

The Chinese name of CEC in Arnhem means: “In Christ the believers have peace, and enjoy eternity.
